Available trails for this experience
Our guides have been tackling the local mountain and desert trails for years to determine the best suited for sharing with others. These are some of our favorites that we can explore in just a few hours.
Border Trail
From this rolling, rumpled peak encompassed in the Otay Wilderness, you will enjoy some of the best bi-national views peering as far as 115 miles north into the United States and nearly as far into Mexico. Few places in the U.S. can you attain such a complete view of Tijuana.
Mountain Trail
With over 50 miles of system OHV trails and roads that traverse through beautiful scenery and challenging terrain, you can find many of the OHV recreational opportunities conveniently located in the Cleveland National Forest. Trails in this area can vary in elevation and difficulty from 3,400 feet at Corral Canyon Campground to 4,169 feet at Bronco Peak.
Desert Trail
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park offers enough variety to please just about anyone. There are more than 500 miles of roads in the park. There are routes up rocky hills, through deep sand, along scenic streams and down steep hills. Both primitive jeep roads and paved roads are also open to bicycles, so be careful. Drivers must stay on roadways at all times and may not venture off the trails.
Your opportunity to get behind the wheel of our 4×4 vehicles and head off road for an exciting, challenging drive in the mountains or desert just outside San Diego.

What our guests have to say…
Great experience! Angelo was so nice! We had never been off roading before and we really enjoyed it! The views were beautiful! Would recommend this tour to anyone!
I1459FBsusanwOutstanding experience, must do in Sunny San Diego What an amazing experience...rock crawling through the mountains with and extremely humble and kind guide, Jeremy. We were a family of four...2 kids under 12 and just had the best experience ever in San Diego. Great views all the way around and you learn a few new skills. Wonderful trip through the mountains....will be doing it again for sure on our next trip to San Diego.
BriandxbHighly Recommend, great Guides Highly recommend adding this to your San Diego area plans. The trip was well organized and extremely enjoyable for a first time off roading adventure. The Jeep was well maintained and handles the rough terrain with ease. Kudos to the owner for keeping the equipment in top condition, given the daily wear and tear. The drive along the mountains with border views was stunning and our guide, being a local, was educated on current events and the history of the area. Our tween son loved it and thought this was the best “field trip” we had taken in Cali.

BriandxbOne of a kind! This is LEGIT off road experience! You drive and it’s real trail, not just fire road. We went up a canyon full of soccer ball sized rocks, tight turns, super steep uphills.... awesome. The guide is the real deal too. Helped me get out from being stuck, stood in don’t and gave hand signals to get me up a seriously sketchy section of trail. Fantastic time.

Lots of water (not typical for San Diego)Fun and Excitement off the Beaten Path We wanted to do something fun and off the beaten path, and this experience was just that. What a terrific time we had. We road through the mountains with fun terrain and breathtaking views. Angelo, the tour guide and company owner, was wonderful in every aspect (professional, informative, patient, funny, etc). He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and having a good time all throughout the tour. We chose the intermediate tour, and having no off-roading experience, we did just fine. We had a tremendous amount of fun. The SD Zoo and Belmont Park are fine (we did those, as well), but this tour was the real highlight of our vacation. We highly recommend it.
DeannaHighly recommended Angelo was extremely committed to providing the best experience for me and my companion. He is very knowledgeable. It also looks like everyone knows him around the area.
AndriiGreat trip! The trip was great and Jeremy was a very good host. The trails were perfect for our novice skills and the scenic views were awesome. The off toad trails were well kept and the entire outing was fun to do with the entire family. If you are looking for something different to do while in San Diego, we definitely recommend going on an outing with CampDads.
